Our web site contains links to several proprietary databases such as Infotrac, Factiva, and SIRS. Access to these databases is limited to Thomas Nelson faculty, staff, and currently registered students. Students taking dual enrollment courses also have access privileges.
Because access is restricted, you will need a user name and password to log on to the databases. When you try to log on from off-campus, you will see a log on screen prompting you for your user name and password. To see a sample log on screen or to find your user name/password, use the links below.

Accessing VIVA From Off Campus for Full and Part Time Faculty and Staff
- The User ID and password required to access the VIVA databases from off-campus are the same user ID and password that faculty and staff use to log onto PeopleSoft, MyTNCC, and Blackboard.
- If you do not know your User ID, fill out the form at https://tncc.my.vccs.edu.
- Access the VIVA databases through the Thomas Nelson Community College Library webpage: http://www.tncc.edu/library. (At this time, it is not possible to logon to the databases through the “official” Virtual Library of Virginia site due to password verification issues. If a needed database appears on that site which is not accessible from the TNCC Library page, please contact the TNCC Library webmaster, Susan Lawlor at 825-3530.
- Click on the database you wish to access; you should see the Virginia Community Colleges' login page (the VCCS logo appears in the upper left corner of the screen.)
- If you get a different logon page, you probably did not access the page through the TNCC Library web site and will not be able to sign on.
- In the “userid” box, enter your PeopleSoft/MyTNCC/Blackboard User ID and password, then click on Log In.
