- Building Green [Natural
Resources Defense Council] - "Green buildings" are designed for maximum
energy-efficiency and minimum negative impact on the environment. For those
considering building green, this Webby winning site explains sustainable
building strategies, costs, and more.
- Chicago Climate Exchange - operates North America’s only cap and trade system for all six greenhouse gases, with global affiliates and projects worldwide.
- Consumer Reports Greener Choices - accessible, reliable, and practical source of information on buying greener products that have minimal environmental impact and meet personal needs.
- Department of Energy Sustainable Design Program: Links - From the U.S.
Department of Energy's Sustainable Design Program. List of external sites that
contain sustainable design concepts.
- EcoBusinessLinks Environmental Directory - Directory of sources for materials, services, and information. Includes a survey of Carbon Offset providers.
- Energy Star - a voluntary labeling program designed to identify and promote energy-efficient products to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The ENERGY STAR label is now on over 50 product categories including major appliances, office equipment, lighting, and home electronics. EPA has also extended the label to cover new homes and commercial and industrial buildings.
- FuelEconomy.gov - Provides information on gas consumption (MPG), greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution ratings, and safety for new & used cars & trucks. Most frequently searched for its "side by side: or "class" comparisons of cars.
- GreenBiz Business
Toolbox - Information source linking environmental concerns with business
success. Features "easy-to-read overviews" of topics like computer recycling,
green building, green product design, buying recycled materials, etc.
- Green Car Congress - "News
and analysis of the energy choices, technologies, products, issues and
policies related to sustainable mobility." Searchable, and browsable by such
topics as biodiesel, fuel efficiency, electric vehicles, hybrids, personal
transit, etc., as well as by country.
