Thomas Nelson Community College is planning for a fall 2021 return to campus that will include a variety of in-person, hybrid, and hyflex courses as well as student support services and student activities.
The College’s leadership, faculty, and staff are designing and coordinating efforts that will allow everyone to return to campus safely. Officials will continue to keep the community's health and safety in mind when making decisions.
The College’s Reconstitution Team is leading these efforts guided by the work of its multiple sub-committees. The Team’s subcommittees considerations will include:
a) Campus safety precautions (e.g., masks, physical distancing, testing, and vaccination availability)
b) Instructional modalities
c) Facility utilization
e) Information technology
f) Student activities
g) In-person academic and student support services
h) Exposure and infection reporting and notification
i) Public health metrics, CDC, and VHD guidance
“While we plan to increase the percentage of face-to-face instruction, we will be flexible and responsive to the changing public health conditions – scaling up or backward as appropriate, ” said Dr. Towuanna Porter Brannon, president.
“Thomas Nelson students are eager to return to campus and we are excited to welcome them back,” Brannon continued.
The fall schedule will be available Monday, April 12 and registration will begin Monday, April 26. To submit questions, suggestions, or concerns about the fall 2021 re-opening, please CLICK HERE.
