Virginia Peninsula Community College is proud to unveil our new Bridge Program. This reimagining of VPCC’s transfer articulation agreements with four-year colleges and universities focuses on individuals who intend to start their college education at VPCC and transfer to a regional, baccalaureate degree-granting institution.
VPCC Bridge to CNU Agreement
Christopher Newport University is the first public college in the Commonwealth to join the Bridge Program, which is designed to create seamless transfer for VPCC students.
The partnership aims to broaden the pipeline of prospective students from economically challenged households for enrollment at VPCC with a dedicated pathway for transfer to CNU. Christopher Newport University offers participating students a variety of innovative programs that will incorporate elements of life at a four-year institution during the students’ community college experience. Examples include multiple visits to CNU’s campus, admission to university athletic events, entrance to fine arts and performing arts events, and access to certain campus facilities.
Students will also have access to services such as pre-university and reverse transfer advising, career coaching, and financial aid counseling, as well as opportunities for need-based scholarships. A CNU senior faculty core adviser will assist participants with academic advising and course selection.
Thanks to this new Bridge Program, Virginia Peninsula Community College is committed to ensuring that each student is equipped with the tools for successful transfer and completion of their higher education journey.
