York County Volunteer Association (YCVA) Endowed Scholarship for Workforce Students

The York County Volunteer Association (YCVA) is a charitable, nonprofit organization that assists York County and Poquoson citizens who are in need. The organization provides funds to qualified individuals ̶ both recent high school graduates and adults ̶ to further their education. It offers scholarships for adult vocational, trade school and technical training courses that would be expected to help in obtaining improved employment. Established in 2014.

Requirements

Applicants for the YCVA Endowed Scholarship for Workforce Students must:

  • Complete a Virginia Peninsula Community College Educational Foundation Scholarship Application;
  • Be enrolled in any Workforce Development course/training program offered by Virginia Peninsula Community College;
  • Be a current resident of the City of Poquoson or York County and have resided there for at least six (6) months; and
  • Demonstrate financial need as determined by Virginia Peninsula Community College.

Additional Requirement(s): Recipients of the York County Volunteer Association Endowed Scholarship for Workforce Students must volunteer at least one (1) day for a minimum of four (4) hours at the Bargain Box, located at 222 Dare Road, Yorktown, VA.
